Our beginning

A House Reawakened

Chef Amari Vale imagined a restaurant where the building,
garden and kitchen could speak with one voice. Northgate House
became that place: intimate, exacting and warm, with every room
restored for the rituals of a long meal and every service guided
by the produce, people and weather gathered around it.

The old walls hold a working kitchen,
a quiet dining room and a close team
guided by the produce gathered nearby.
Each service changes with the weather,
the growers and the fire, while the house
keeps its patient and generous rhythm.

The chef

A new chapter
by Amari

Amari's cooking begins with memory, then moves through the garden and into the fire. The result is precise without being rigid: vivid sauces, smoke, acidity and an instinct for the pleasure of sharing.

The dining room follows the same rhythm. Service is attentive and easy, leaving enough space for conversation and surprise.

Where garden walls
meet the kitchen fire

The house has been adapted with restraint. Old masonry, hand-worked timber and new rooms sit together quietly, framing a restaurant that changes with the grounds outside.
